As part of the reconfiguration and strengthening of bilateral diplomatic relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued Resolution 12189 of 2026, a measure that formally reinstates the visa exemption for nationals of the State of Israel traveling for tourism purposes.
This provision aims to recover a cooperation framework that boosts cultural, commercial, and tourist exchange between both nations. However, traveling visa-free does not mean an absence of controls.
90 days
Visa-free stay on entry
180 days
Maximum per calendar year, with PTP
Tourism
Leisure, tourism or family visits only
What are the main rules of the visa exemption?
- Duration of Stay: Israeli citizens may enter and remain in Colombian territory without a visa for a period of 90 days.
- What happens if you want to stay longer? If a visa-exempt traveler wishes to legally extend their stay in Colombia beyond the initial 90 days, they can use the Temporary Stay Permit (PTP). This extension must be requested directly through Migración Colombia before the initial permit expires (typically allowing an additional period, subject to annual limits established by migration regulations, without exceeding a total of 180 days in a calendar year).

Up to 90 days of stay.
STEP 2 · BEFORE DAY 90

Exceeding it without an extension carries sanctions and fines.
NOTE: Remaining in the country irregularly or exceeding the authorized time without the proper extension carries sanctions and financial fines.
Scope and Limitations
It is critical to note that this benefit applies strictly to leisure, tourism, or family visits. The regulation does not authorize the performance of remunerated activities, labor contracts, or long-term formal studies.
Please note: If the purpose of the trip is focused on other non-permitted activities under this condition—such as opening a company, assuming legal representation roles, employment, or other corporate or commercial activities—obtaining a visa in advance will be necessary.
